How to Install a Toyota Solara Fender

To install the fenders on your Toyota Solara you first need to remove the old fenders from the body. Installing fenders on the Toyota Solara is a fairly common process that takes little mechanical skill and few tools. All of the bolts that are securing the fender to the frame of the Toyota Solara are located under the wheel well and inside the engine compartment along the top edge that the hood rests on.

1. Removing the Fenders on a Toyota Solara

   • 1

     Loosen the wheel nuts using a tire tool on both front tires. Lift the right front side of the Toyota Solara using a car jack and place a jack stand under the frame at the support point. Lower the Toyota Solara onto the jack stand. Repeat for the left side and pull the tire off of the frame.

     Pop off the rivets that are securing the wheel well to the frame of the Toyota Solara using a screwdriver on the right side of the frame. Pull the wheel well out of the wheel housing. Repeat for the left side.

     Remove the bolt that secures the fender to the frame inside the wheel well on the left and right sides using a ratchet set. Remove the bolts that secures the fender to the frame inside the engine compartment on the right and left side using a ratchet set. Pull the fenders off of the Toyota Solara's frame.

   Installing Toyota Solara Fenders

     Place the right fender onto the right side of the Toyota Solara's frame. Insert the securing bolts to the upper body inside the engine compartment. Repeat for the left side. Tighten the bolts on the right and left fender using the ratchet set.

     Insert the bolts to the lower right and left fenders on the Toyota Solara. Tighten the bolts using the ratchet set.

     Close the hood. Use the car jack to raise the Toyota Solara and remove the jack stands and lower the Toyota Solara back to the ground.
